Urbmon 116 (2016)
Until Hell Freezes Over Parts 1 and 2: Phil with rhythm section of Tim + Paddi:
Many did not think they would survive the Cuban missile crisis– this piece conveys the anxiety, the waiting, the paranoia, the Russian choir performs Mussorsgky’s ‘At Daddy’s Gate’ and reminds us of Russia’s great culture while an anvil sounds to remind us of darker moments.
Available for free / donations at the Paradox One Bandcamp page.
Look out for the next Urbmon 116 releases on asteroids and escalators into space (an Arthur C Clarke idea)
Music available on Bandcamp– free but donations are welcome– see also my Solo artists group on Progressive Ears website.
EYES OF BLUE- IN FIELDS OF ARDATH (Esoteric) (review forthcoming in Acid Dragon magazine)
KAMASI WASHINGTON- THE EPIC (Brainfeeder) (brilliant jazz fusion with a difference)
JULIA HOLTER- HAVE YOU IN MY WILDERNESS (Domino)
FUCHSIA- FUCHSIA (Esoteric) (Classic ‘acid folk’ album with hints of Love and Fairport Convention but totally on its own planet, 7 minute numbers with intriguing twists and turns and violin making for a unique sound. Vastly underrated at the time and nice to see its latest incarnation on CD)
Have a few spaces still to fill- watch this space.
Now I wonder what 2016 will bring.
NEW MUSIC COMING SOON FROM URBMON 116, A SIDE PROJECT OF PARADOX ONE!
